Am I being unreasonable?? The people who are buying our house are NOW saying that January 16th is too late to close! They want to get in sooner! At first they wanted in by the end of December!!

1. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I'M MOVING TO!!!
2. Alex is bringing a friend home from college to ski.
3. Steve's family will be here Christmas week from Texas and STAYING WITH US...A FAMILY OF 4.
4. Alex doesn't even go back to Tx. until January 5th.
5. Did I mention that we don't know where we're moving??!!

Why do *I* feel guilty!?!? UGH!

Ah Lindy, I wish this was easier for you. Perhaps the family that wants the house is in a tough situation as well. I don't think you are not being unreasonable for having certain expectations about the closing. This is a big deal in terms of emotions and logistics for you and your family.

Keep talking with them and maybe you can work out something. I guess you didn't figure you'd sell your house so quickly.

You're right Michael...I'm just stressed. I'm sure having 5 kids and not knowing where you'll be for Christmas is MUCH worse! That's where the guilt comes in! You're also correct in saying that we didn't think we'd sell this fast!! We didn't!

I'm sorry that this is becoming such a muddle!! While I can understand the point about this family having difficulties of their own about where they're going to be living in the near future, I hope they are being reasonable about your family's needs, as well.

Don't feel guilty, Lindy, I don't think there's anything wrong with what you posted! You're just sooooo sweet. *hugs*

no, you have every right to stand by your guns. you can tell them they have to follow your time schedule or the deal is OFF. its all part of the negotiations.
